STEWART, Herbert R (Bert) (1939-2023)
Bert worked at the College from late 1991 to 2003, starting in the role of Accounting Manager and then Bursar from 1997. Prior to coming to the College he was the Bursar at Morongo Girls’ College. As Bursar, Bert was dedicated to the business affairs of the school as well as being a member of the Executive. He was Clerk of the Council and Secretary of the Foundation. After Bert’s retirement, Michael Dowling wrote, “Bert Stewart was most diligent, honest and reliable in discharging his duties and he managed the College’s financial and physical resources with great skill and dedication.” Bert was married to Lesley and they have three children, David (OGC 1980), Jeff (OGC 1982) and Annette (MOC).
Bert passed away 7 March 2023 aged 83 years.
