George Clark-Dickson Reid was born on 23 February 1892 at Richmond, Victoria, and was enrolled by his parents, James Armstrong and Mary nee Clark-Dickson as a boarder at Geelong College from 1907 to 1911. When he was enrolled, his address was listed as ‘Dromkeen’ Riddell.
At College, he was one of the most conspicuous sportsmen of his time. He was a member of the 1st Rowing VIIIs of 1909, 1910 and 1911 and Boat Captain in 1911, a member of the 1st Cricket XI in 1912,1913 and 1914, and a member of the Athletics Teams in 1908, 1911, 1912 and 1913. He was a School Prefect in 1912 and Head Prefect in 1913 and 1914 and winner of the Geelong College Cup in 1913. He was a member of the 1st Football XVIII in 1911 and then, Team Captain for three years from 1912 to 1914.
He is recorded in the Annual Reports as winning the following awards.

Pegasus in August 1925 reported on his activities:
‘We hear Dickson Reid is shortly taking a well-earned holiday, after two years managing a station in N.S.W., and hope he finds time to look us up at the College.’ He died at Prahran on 4 October 1967.
His brothers;
William James Reid MC (1895-1930), and James Armstrong Reid (1909-1987); and son,
Frank Clarke-Dickson Reid (1918-1945), were also educated at Geelong College.
