Sir Harold ‘Roy’ Fidge was a noted Geelong lawyer and former mayor of the City of Geelong who was also extensively involved in community activities. He was knighted for his services to local government in 1967. Not only was he a councillor and mayor of the City of Geelong, for many years he was also the first secretary of Geelong Apex, a director and Chairman of Capital Building Society, Chairman of the Port of Geelong Authority and an active member of the Geelong Promotion Committee which assisted in the attraction to Geelong of major businesses such as Shell, Alcoa and Blue Circle Cement.

He was a day student at the School from 1922 to 1923, and played in the 1st Football Team and Athletics Team in 1922 and 1923.

There is a Harold Roy Fidge Collection at Deakin University and biography held there.

Sir Roy Fidge was inducted into the Old Geelong Collegians' Association Notables Gallery at Geelong College in 2011.
