Ray Deans.

Ray Deans was born on 4 November 1929 and became a carpenter and staff member with the College for 32 years from 1962 to 1994. Over that period he worked with three Principals and witnessed enormous changes in buildings and services across the College.

Ray was appointed Maintenance Foreman in 1962, eventually becoming the College’s first Property Manager in 1976. Apart from supervising maintenance, one of his tasks was liaison with contractors undertaking large and small projects in the development of physical buildings and services. Among those projects were: Refurbishment of Morrison Hall; College Chapel; Mossgiel Boarding House; Warrinn renovations, Austin Gray Centre, Science Block, Library, Environment Centre, Robertson Hall, Watson Gymnasium and the transfer of the original Campbell House and many others.

Ray, aged 85 years, died on 27 June 2015.
