Walter Price.
Walter Price succeeded Willian Bayley as the fourth Principal of Geelong College from 1915 to 1919. Walter Price joined the staff in 1898 as Senior Resident Master shortly after the death of George Morrison. He taught languages and mathematics with a scholarly precision. Following the death of Vice-Principal, J B Kerrin 1904, Price was appointed to that position.
Walter Price matriculated in 1888 and in 1900 entered Melbourne University to study for a BA. He appears to have deferred his studies during the years 1901 to 1903, recommencing in 1904. He was awarded his BA in 1907. In 1921 he was awarded First Class Honours in the School of English and French and admitted MA.

On Norman Morrison's death in 1909, Mr Price, as Vice-Principal, was temporarily in charge, and, when W R Bayly resigned from the principalship in 1914, Mr Price was appointed to the position. He took charge just when the College was experiencing the lean years of World War I. The College’s new status as a Public School, together with the abrupt change from half a century's administration by the Morrison family, had created difficulties which were aggravated by staff problems directly due to the war. Mr Price left the College at the end of 1919 and became a lecturer in English at the University of Melbourne. Later, he moved to Brighton Grammar School as senior French master and continued at work almost to the end of 1950.
