MCLEAN, Ronald John (1947-2023)

John boarded at the College from 1963-1964, completing his final two years at school. In his first year he received a James Boyd Scholarship, then a Commonwealth Scholarship in 1964. On the sporting field he was a member of the 3rd XVIII then 2nd XVIII football teams, as well as the 2nd cricket team. John received Morrison House Athletics Colour and Football Colour. He also served on the Library, Pegasus and PFA committees.

Following school, John returned to the family farm at Drik Drik. He farmed with his father until 1987, when he and wife Helen took on the whole farm. In the early 1990s John and Helen sold the farm and moved to Geelong.

Soon after Helen started teaching at the College and their five children also attended. John was involved in life at the College, serving on the SSPA including time as Secretary.

John passed away 3 March 2023, aged 75 years.
