GAULD, Peter (1950-2011)

GAULD, Peter (1950-2011)

Ad Astra published the following obituary in 2011:
'Peter (Gauld) commenced as a staff member at The Geelong College Recreation Centre in the year 2000. The Centre had only just opened six months earlier and was still establishing itself. While Peter was the Manager, the membership grew from a few hundred to over 1200. The Centre provides education and recreational programs to nearly 30 schools and groups in the wider community. Peter managed all this with ease and efficiency.

Members of the pool will remember Peter, not only as the Pool Manager, but as a friend. He was the warm, smiling face at the desk at 6.00am every morning. He greeted and cared about each and every person who came through the door. As a strong Geelong Cats supporter, there was always a follow up or game review on every match. Some of the football players wore black armbands for Peter in the winning Grand Final. He would have loved that.'
