Guy Pearce.

Guy Pearce, actor, was born at Ely, Cambridgeshire, England and emigrated to Australia in about 1970. He attended the School from 1973 to 1985 eventually becoming a member of McArthur House at Senior School. At School he very early expressed his preference for acting and performed in a series of plays and musical performances at the School such as Desiderata of 1985. At the age of about 16 he briefly turned to weight training and his devotion to this sport first earned him renown as the bodybuilding champion, Mr Junior Victoria.

On completing School in 1985 he immediately landed a part as Mike Young in the long running television series Neighbours which launched him into further work in film including Flynn; Hunting; Snowy River: The Macgregor Saga and eventually, a two year role in another television series Home and Away. It was his role as a drag queen in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert which enabled an expansion of opportunity as an international performer with roles in L. A. Confidential; Memento; The Time Machine; X-Men; Rules of Engagement; The Count of Monte Christo; First Snow and Death Defying Acts.

Guy Pearce was inducted into the Old Geelong Collegians' Association (OGCA) Notables Gallery at Geelong College in 2011.
