CAMPBELL, Dennis Alexander (1910-1925)

CAMPBELL, Dennis Alexander (1910-1925)

Dennis Campbell, who died following an accident, was born at Geelong on 19 June 1910 to parents Charles Ellis Campbell and Elizabeth Houston nee Miller. He became a day student at Geelong College from 28 July 1924 to December 1925. He had previously attended Ballarat College. His address at enrolment was 59 Ryrie St, Geelong.

Pegasus reported his death: ‘It was with deep regret that the School heard on Wednesday, Dec. 9th, of the death of Dennis Campbell. Riding a bicycle, he was run down by a motor car on Tuesday, Dec. 8th, and died the next day. He had attended the school for two years, and had left just a few clays before the accident, with a view to taking a position in a bank. He entered kee11h into the life of the school and all its interests, and won the respect and affection of both masters and boys. To his family the school extends its deepest sympathy.’

His brother, Ronald Ellis Campbell (1915-1968), was also educated at Geelong College.
